Viewed by the World Bank as a Private Sector Development Model

The establishment of SSTC is recognized by multilateral development institutions, including the World Bank, as a paradigm shift for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Rather than simply licensing distant-water fleets to harvest and export unprocessed tuna, SSTC brings processing onshore—maximizing domestic employment, technology transfer, and sustainable economic retention.
